"Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, to declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him." Psalm 92:13-15 (NKJV)

An apple tree gives you apples. An orange tree gives you oranges. The fruit always matches the root.

The same thing is true spiritually. If you're rooted in fear, you'll produce anxiety. If you're rooted in comparison, you'll produce jealousy. If you're rooted in performance, you'll produce burnout. Every time.

But the opposite is also true. Get rooted in God's Word and you'll start producing wisdom. Get rooted in God's love and you'll start producing peace. Get rooted in God's grace and you'll start producing freedom.

So here's what I want you to do this week. Take an honest look at the fruit in your life. What's actually growing? And what does that tell you about what's underneath?

If the fruit isn't good, don't just grit your teeth and try harder. Trying harder to do better never works for long. Go deeper than that and check your roots.

Where are you planted? What are you believing? Who are you listening to?

Change the root, you change the fruit. It's that simple, and it's that hard.

Bring somebody with you this Sunday who needs to see what healthy spiritual roots actually produce. Invite them to get planted right alongside you.

See you Sunday.
